This is considered an outpatient procedure done under general or local anaesthesia. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision within the nostrils. Depending on the complexity the surgeon may have to cut across the base of the nose. The surgeon then reshapes the cartilage and inner bone to produce a more pleasing appearance depending on your preference. General anaesthesia is known to put you to sleep while local anaesthesia will only numb the nose while you are still awake.
Recovery and Healing:
In the event of nose job before and after, after the surgery you will have to wear a special nasal splint for about 7-10 days after the surgery. There will be swelling and bruises around the eyes that take about 72 hours before they starts healing. This can last for up to two weeks. There will be a little swelling on the nose which will go away after about six months. The final shape of the nose will be clear once it has completely healed.
